Breaking News: Sestak Admits Stimulus was "Oversold"
Allentown, PA "" In a shocking admission, one of the biggest fans of
the Democratic $787 billion stimulus legislation is now admitting that
"there is no such things as a shovel-ready job," and that "we
oversold" the stimulus.
That's what Rep. Joe Sestak told Politico in a story about the stimulus' failure to revive the persistently sluggish economy.
"We have to give Joe credit for being honest about the stimulus'
futility and the Democrats' role in selling the American people a $787
billion bag of false hopes," said Toomey Communications Director Nachama
Soloveichik. "But anyone who voted for the legislative monstrosity
should have known that lavishing taxpayer dollars on projects like a Miami
water park and a New Jersey beach would not create jobs."
"Now, thanks, in part, to Joe Sestak's vote, the country is stuck
with a huge deficit and growing unemployment. So the question is, why does
Joe want to spend even more taxpayer dollars on another 'stimulus?' Last
winter, Rep. Sestak said he wanted a $1 trillion stimulus and continues to
demand a second one Instead, we should stop the unprecedented
spending spree in Washington on stimulus packages that don't stimulate
job creation, and bailouts that bail out Wall Street at taxpayers'
expense."
